Tuesday Throwdown Challenge

Happy Tuesday Friends, can you believe it's the
last day of March already...days are flying by aren't they!!

Today Team B is being sponsored by Meljen's Designs. We are also
saddened to say Meljen's Designs is closing its doors, but we wish Melissa
blessings in her new adventures on Etsy.
But for this month they are still opened and gave us these sweet images
to use for our Challenge. The CHALLENGE this week is a
Easter themed recipe...use
1 design dp, 1 image and at least one egg plus the pastel color palette.
You will need to stop by the TT Blog to see the colors. I"m using the sweet
little Easter Bunny Image. I printed it twice and colored it.
After coloring I cut out the head of the second one and added for a little dimension.
Then cut the image out with a Spellbinder Scalloped Oval. The lavender was
embossed  and  some lace stitched on, then the whole thing
was stitched onto a piece of dp. Finally a bit
 Bakers String wrapped  and tied
on with a button. The little Easter Sentiment finishes it up.

What can you find

UNDER THE SEA?

That is our new challenge at Friends of Speedy TV today! This is a wide open theme,
creatures, mermaids, treasures, plant life, sunken ships and what ever else you can think of,
So that means you all can join in the fun this week!!

I started with a piece of water color paper and inks to create the underwater background.
Combining two MFP Stamp Sets, Oh Crab & Shello. The crab and fish came from the
Oh Crab set and the sentiment and sea weed came from the Shello.
I stamped all the images then colored them and cut them all out. They were attached
to the under sea background. The sentiment was stamped mounted on
the black and added. After finishing the scene it just ran into
the card base so decided to add a touch of black to separate it. Really it was
a pretty quick and simple card after I got started.
I had been concerned about getting all the pieces to come together to
make a scene for nothing!I think I like
the touch of black to break up all the aqua, kinda of
ties it all together... What do you think?

Please stop by to see my talented teamies creations,
we  did different things with the theme and got great inspirational results!!

Good Morning Friends!

Hoping you all had a Great weekend and are ready for the new week!

Today at Friends of Speedy TV we are challenging you to make and use handmade flowers.
As much as I love making flowers I made several different projects before settling
on this one. A LO using a pic of my sweet blue eyed blondie granddaughter
from a couple years ago.I took the pic just as she was turning so
it was a sweet partial profile I have has sitting waiting to use
in the right project. I cut and matted and stitched the pic onto several layers first.
The lavender background was chosen as the black shows nicely on it.
The orchid and purple flowers were cut with the Spellbinder Rose die and then I molded them.
The dark purple small roses are from the Spellbinder Bitty Blossoms and the
white poms are just plain handmade. The regular leaves I cut and molded
and the fern ones are cut with a Marvy punch.

Next I using modeling past and a Crafters Workshop Mini Flutterby stencil
my friend Martha gave me I randomly
scattered the butterflies around. If you look closely you will see I also cut a butterfly
from vellum and added it. I just wanted it to be subtly
nested in with the raised ones.

A Spellbinder border was used for the side and stitched on. I also added lavender jewels
to the flowers centers for a bit of sparkle

The Sentiment if from the Huge Flowers Set and matted onto a Spellbinder Fancy Label.
The it was foam dotted on.
All Stamp Sets and large selection of Papercrafting supplies are available at

There are myriads of different ways to make HANDMADE flowers so join the fun and
show us what kinds you like to make best for
this weeks Challenge

Im entering this into the Following Challenges....

More than one fold

That is the Tuesday Throwdown Challenge for today!
You can do a project or card either one. Our sponsor is

Creations by AR and she has generously given us each
one of her awesome patterns to use today. Be sure to
check out her store.I am using the tennis shoe pattern, how fun it that! Her patterns are well marked and she also has a great color guide for assembly.

Tuesday Throwdown Team B has lots of great inspiration for you today so be sure to stop by and join us!!   Adela has given each of us a different pattern to use so there is a fun variety of awesome creations to check out!!

I decided to do the tennis shoe as I have 4 grandchildren I wanted to send a little something. Since 3 are boys thought this would be perfect for them. I have a purple print one for my little granddaughter but its not done yet. Thought I would start with a traditional look one. I used a textured black paper for the shoe itself. I didnt get the pic right but there is even the tongue in the shoe.  The assemble was easy and all the little touches like the little black stripe and label make it special. I punched the holes as labeled on the pattern and laced him up! I wanted to used a different ribbon for the laces but all the cute striped, dots and checks were either too short or to wide! Whats a girl to do, just be thankful I had a white that would work lol!!  Made a cute little gift holder dont you think??

March 16th...

Can you believe how this year is speeding by!!
Seems like yesterday was Jan 1.
They say the older you get the faster it goes, must be getting really old LOL.
So are you curious what the FOSTV challenge is is week?
It is a triangle card and we all seem to have a little different take on it!
I've never made one and don't know if
there is a particular  instruction, I just cut the triangle and
turned it on end, so not sure what category
in falls into, obtuse or acute triangle but it's somewhere in the ball park.
I stitched a scrap piece of sweet pink gingham I had.
Next came a little MS punched border and distressing. The flowers
are from two of the Coneflower Set images, colored and cut out. I love
these flowers dont you!! The Just A Note Set  was used
to add random touches of musical bars and notes plus the sentiment.
The sentiment was stamped and then cut out with
a Spellbinder Scalloped Oval and embossed with a Dotted Swiss folder.
The butterfly is from Cherry Lynn with a little jewel added to give
a little sparkle to its body. This was a quick fun card
to make, easy with lots of different possibilities.

Be sure to take time to come join in the fun and show us
your triangle card!!

So do any of you garden?? Here in the desert southwest it is heating up quickly and the winter garden is fading fast. It was 93 yesterday. Our small garden is in full swing and harvesting  just about daily now. Yesterday I made a second batch of Kimchi from the Napa Cabbage soaking in the bowl, sauteed all the mushrooms to freeze and also sauteed all the sugar snap peas to freeze for future stir fries. This is our 4th cutting of broccoli so used all the small side shoots to make a couple pans of Chicken Divan. Its a  work putting everything up but its a nice relaxing break from the daily grind of work plus no poisons and pestisides in this garden, totally organic!

Numbers Numbers...

Friends Of Speedy TV is challenging you to use numbers
on your card or creation this week. My husband's birthday is this coming Saturday, one of the big ones.. Since he doesnt do computers Im safe to post it here! It is an
easel card of sorts but I made it so it would open up. I have used a striped dp,
solid blue and some burlap on different parts.

All the border pieces were cut with Spellbinders Edgebilities. I drew little random white circles onto the kraft paper. I cut out the 65 and added little paint dots to them before attaching onto the embossed base. It was foam dotted on for some dimension.
The card then lifts up to reveal the inside
The parrot come from the  Buried Treasure Set, Enjoy today is from the Friends Set and the HB is from the Great Flowers Set.
All of the Stamp Sets can be found at MFP Stamp Store.

A new Month already!!

Can you believe its already March?? And.... that also brings a new Challenge at FOSTV!!
This week we are looking for Easter projects. My card starts with embossed base and
a little dotted scrap of dp stitched on. I blotted on some watercolors  to coordinate
with the dotted dp then I stamped the egg and butterfly image from the
Spring Joy Mini Set. The butterfly was colored with pencils and cut out
with a Spellbinder die. The piece was foam dotted on. A little fun of
flower boarder added and the Sentiment from the same set.
You can find all the Stamp Sets and other items at the

My teammates have some very pretty cards to inspire you
and we would be delighted to have you stop by and join our Challenge this week!!
