Speedy Fox and Friends Challenge

Good Morning Friends. Been a while  since Ive posted. Sorry havent been to visit you all much.
My family was here for my brother in law's service. Spending time together was the priority.
Life can change so quickly, my BIL was diagnosed with cancer a few short months ago
and already gone! Hug your loved ones and tell your friends how you much you care for them,
you might not get another opportunity.....
That is my heartfelt advise for the day SO now On with the Challenge..
.Today we are embossing flowers on Vellum. After stamping with Versamark you embossed you
image then add a little color on the backside of the image. Cut it out and add it to you card...
easy as can be!   I made up a little set of  three/

The first on using the Lily Image. Some sunny yellow, a little dp from Lawn Fawn and
a MS punched edge. A little string of jewels and butterfly for a bit of embellishment.
Simple and easy to send thru the mail; The dp was stitched along the edge.
I think my machine is just about toast, joining the growing group
of malfuntions at my house!! It will only sew backwards lol!!

The next one uses the Coneflower Image. The dp is one of those year stacks.
The little edge was cut with a Stampin Up border die as was the little white one.
The frame is a Scalloped Oval Spellbinder. The dp was stitched on
.This one will be easy to mail also.

The last one is the Rose Image. Got a little carried away on this one not so mailable!
The the striped dp is from Stampin Up and cut with a Spellbinder Decorative Square.
The butterfly is a Cheery Lynn and a handdyed bow. The little border behind
is also from the year stack and cut with my new punch
 from my sweet friend Martha!!.

All the images and sentiments plus a myriad of Stamping Goodies
are available at MFP Stamp Shop

Tuesday Throwdown Challenge

Good Morning it is time for TT Team B Challenge. It is Thankful and our
sponsor is DeeDee's Digis. She has generously supplied us with our choice of images
. I am using one from the Autumn Blessings Set. After coloring I was adding a little shading
to the twigs with a copic and all of a sudden big drops of ink came out. I had to cut a piece
of to salvage the image to thats why it may seem a little off. A little checked dp and a
border cut with a PTI die. The sentiment is cut with a Spellbinder banner die.
This challenge cuts pretty close to the heart today.
My sister's husband passed away Thursday after a shocking diagnosis of cancer
in June She turns 60 tomorrow and They would have been married 43 years! She was
determined he was her soulmate and they were married on her 17th birthday.
I am thankful he was a part of our family for all these years. He was a tower
of strength and always willing to help whenever needed. He was much more than
just a BIL he was more like a brother.  Im also thankful that
he was a wonderful husband to my sis
and father to my nephews and niece.
His passing has left a huge hole in our family but we
have the blessed assurance that we will see him again one day!

Speedy Fox and Friends Challenge

Today our challenge is to create a background with inks, stencil and water.
You will find the tutorial HERE for the Challenge. I used Tim Holtz
weathered wood, dusty concord and pine needles inks for the color.
Then. using a  Balzer Design Stencil,  the Mini Swirly Garden,
I spritzed the water over it and dabbed. It made a nice quiet design.
I then stamped the flower from the Hydrangea Set and water colored it.
The sentiment is from the Ivy and Blossoms Set.The little bottom
border was cut with a Stampin Up die .All was stitched onto the
aqua base, which by the way was a big chore!!
Have you ever tried to sew backwards?? My sewing
machine is joining the ever growing menagerie of malfunctioning stuff around here
It wont go forward it will only go backwards, kinda crazy
but hey I just went with it and thats why it looks a little wonky LOL!!.
This is an easy technique that gives
a great variety of results depending on color and stencils.
Check out my teammates lovely creations!

Make your own Background...

Our Challenge at Speedy Fox and Friends is to sponge over a die cut negative to create your background. I have used a Spellbinder Label  21 for my background. Using Tim Holtz green lavender and blue inks I sponged them on over the negative shape. Then using The Dogwood Flower image I heat embossed it. A little dyed ribbon and stitching, some sparkles and viola a quick card!

I did a second one with a bit of a twist. I just laid the Spellbinder Label 20 die down sponged the red and green inks then used red to sponge on the outside of the die just leaving the outline. Heat embossed one of the Christmas Cardinal images, matted and stitched it all together! The sentiment was from from the same set.

Good Morning Friends

It's that time again. Speedy Fox and Friends is challenging you to
use gold and silver on your creation. For some reason I just was sorta stymied on this one.
Finally decided to stitched a piece of gold lame onto the black.
From there I stamped the coneflower fro the Cone Flower Set and cut it out.
The Sentiment is  silver heat embossed from the Sunflower Set and cut with a Spellbinder
die then foam dotted on. It looked so plain so I added some "Australian Lace" with
Silver Stickles.A little harder that doing it with smooth flowing frosting lol! Voila done!!
Here in the Mohave Desert we are having our last hurrah of heat today 109 and
then its supposed to cool down to the low 100s by next week!!
I'm SO ready for some cooler weather.

Happy Saturday....

Here at Speedy Fox and Friends we have a new Challenge for the upcoming week.
All the team has some great inspirational creations to get you going!
The challenge is to Stamp over Stencils. After using some blue lavender and green inks
with my stencil I also used THE Cracked Hello Set to stamp over the
stencil in random spots.  After that I used the small rose from the  Roses Set
I stitched on then distressed the edges and dyed a bow to match.I have to say this the jewels
do match, something about the lighting turned them neon turquoise!!
All mounted on the blue for a pretty quick card.

I'm on a twofur roll the past couple weeks LOL!! Needed another card and had started this one first and didnt like it, but after I finished it, it's not so bad so showing it too.
Used a triple square stencil in different colors and then just plain stamped over with the
Rooster and Hen from the Flap My Wattles Set.
My friends birthday is here and we have been friends for  40 years!!
This will make her laugh for sure!

The CHALLENGE is SWEETS. Show us your card with some type of sweet treat on it.
I need two cards and liked both images so have made two different cards today.
Our Sponsor is Robyn's Fetish, check out their huge selection of images!!

The first uses the Snowman Cone image
Pretty simple, stitched on the plaid and cut a banner. After coloring and glittering the cutie Snowman image I cut it out and mounted on the embossed banner. A quick folded bow attached with a button finishes the top of the banner. The sentiment is cut with a Spellbinder and attached to the black punched with a Marvy punch.

The second is using the Cupcake With Leaf image
After cutting and stitching on the corner pieces I colored and cut out the cupcake image. A little glitter added to the flower. The layers were cut with a Scalloped Spellbinder rectangle die. The brown embossed and cupcake added. The bow is dyed seam binding. The sentiment was cut out with a Spellbinder Label with a little jewel added .

Good Morning Friends...

Can you believe August is just about gone? We are supposed
to be cooling down into the low 100's by next weekend, woohoo summer is winding down!
So anyways onto our Friend of Speedy TV Challenge this week. The card
that none of us really wants to make. A Sympathy Card is this weeks theme.
My friend's son passed away last week so I made two trying to decide
which one to give her.  The first one I used the image from the
Oriental Joy Set with a little bit of coloring. I didnt want to use a
sympathy sentiment so the thinking of you is from the Chrysanthemum Set.

For this card I stamped the tule images from the Marsh Silhouette Set as is the
sentiment attached with a brad.
Stop by and join the Challenge this week!!

Saturday, August 22, 2015

Happy Saturday Friends....

Candles is the challenge, cut out, embossed or image.
Show us a candle on your card for the new Friends of Speedy TV Challenge
Since I didnt  have an image or folder I have cut my candles
out of some red paper adding a little shaddowing, drips and flame atop.
My papers are from Paper Studio Country Christmas Pak.
After cutting out the candles I punched and die cut the foliage and pinecones with
Spellbinder dies and Martha Stewart punch. The matted sentiment is from the
Poinsettia Set. The candles were easy and fun to make and it made a quick
and easy card.I added a little doodling across the top to go with the hearts.
Stop over for a little jump start on inspiration.
My teammates have used a variety of ways to make candles.

Its time for a New Challenge

Im excited to share our new challenge with you this week at
Tuesday Throwdown.  Team B is Challenging you to use Texture!
Now with all the different medias available the sky is the limit on this one so join us!!

Our sponsor is Lawn Fawn and they have generously supplied us with a set of our choice.
I am using the  Cruising Through Life Set. This is the cutest set with lots of fun pieces.
It would be great to use for a friend or mate either one.
You will want to drop by Lawn Fawn's Shop and pick a few of their awesome sets.
They also have matching dies for some of their sets!
So I first created a background with the gelatos and them added texture with two
different folders, lines for the grass and swirls for the sky. Next I added clouds and
used a daisy stencil for the sun.
The flowers are from the set and I added dimensional paint to them.
I stamped the fun sentiment from the set along the bottom . The bicycle was stamped
colored with watercolors and some silver sparkle paint. Cut out and attached and the
whole thing attached to the green base.  I made this to give to my hubby to encourage
him a bit. He was hurt over two years ago and it has only worsened with time,
he cant work or do much, so wanted to make him smile a bit!

Good Morning Friends

Hope your week is off to a good start!
This week at Tuesday Throwdown Team B has a Sketch for you to use.

Our Sponsor My Grafico has given us a fun Set Pretty Mermaid to use.
My granddaughter turns 8 Friday so I have made this card for her. They live in Oahu and
I cant be there for her birthday so Im hoping she will enjoy her card.  I have taken
quite a bit of liberty with the sketch as you can see. I used the wall of seaweed for the
strip and the fish for the button. The rest of the seaweed
and sweet Mermaid for the second square. After printing
and coloring all the pieces I cut them out. The base is colored with Gelatos,
embossed and stitched on the aqua base. After attaching all the pieces I added
the jewels and stickles to the sentiment.

Check out all the fun ideas my Teamies came up with!!
You have until next Monday eve to join in the fun...

Welcome August....

Another month and the worst of summer will be over!!
Cooler evenings coming, and I can't wait. So here we are another
new Friends of Speedy TV Challenge. A woven background is the challenge
this week.My card is a pretty quick cas of sorts. My time has been very limited
since I'm caring for my friends cat. He has to be fed and medicated 5 times a day.
Im also taking care of her house, plants and other kitties while she is  gone for surgery.
The fortunate perk is she is also my boss so I can leave work to do it. I do have
to say  it  is a blessing to be able to help even if it keeps me extra busy.
I used three different dps in green for the woven part, sort of staggering
them so they dont make a perfect square.. The Morning Glory image is
from the Friends Set colored and cut out. The mat is a embossed
Spellbinder Scalloped Circle. The butterfly was a punched one from a
friend I embossed and added the antennae.
The sentiment is from the  Tiger Lilies Set.
Do Stop by and check out all the other beautiful inspiration
my teammates have created!!

New Saturday Challenge

Good Morning Friends!! Today at Speedy TV and Friends

we are challenging you to Doodle a Frame.
I have used the Hydrangea Image and taken a little liberty with it.
I've never seen a peach colored Hydrangea but you are seeing one now!
I used water color pencils and Copics to color the image.
I have used a older scrap of Pink Paislee dp and a piece of
some very cool recycled cardboard for a
border. I wanted my frame to have a more vintage look
that blended in with the dp instead of being bold. For that look
I doodled with a Stampin Up Soft Suede marker instead of black.
A little stitching for embellishment and the Sentiment is
from the      Set  with a bit of doodling on it also.
This is such a fun and easy  Challenge I hope you
all will hop on over and join us this week!!
Also all my teamies did different things with this
Challenge so you can check out all their fabulous creations
to give you a little extra inspiration.

Whats your favorite color??

All you need to join the Challenge at Speedy Fox and Friends
this week is a piece of colored paper and some white embossing powder!!
Additionally you are to high light your image. I have chosen to use a piece of
maroon paper with my white powder. MY image is from the  Coneflower Set. After
embossing the flowers I used the bleach method to high light my image.
Interestingly as you can see from the close up above it turned it
an unexpected pale green!  A thin white mate to separate it
from the base. The borders were cut with the
Spellbinder border die and stitched on. The center  was dry
embossed with the SU Square Lattice folder. The sentiment is
from the Friends Set was punched out with a
Marvy circle and foam dotted on.

Spellbinder die. I used another Spellbinder to make a frame for her.
The background was made with some paste and a Heidi Swapp  butterfly stencil.
After letting the stencil dry I added several different inks . Although it doesnt
show much of the background is the same green as the base of the card.
A little stitching to attach it all. The Birthday sentiment was cut with a
Spellbinder Scalloped circle and foam dotted on. My talented teamies
