Up in the Air

That is the Challenge for the new FOSTV week.
That can be interpreted in many ways. I have used one
of the March Releases.  The cute stork and baby image are from the
Bundle Of Joy Set.  They do not show up to well but
I did created a cloud background for the stork
.I have several up coming babies so will need cards,
getting the jump on them! I have used a simple lavender gingham
for the base and then embossed and cut the white strip with
the SU scalloped die. The image was colored and attached
to the embossed base with little flower brads.
My friend sent me the little daisy chain so do not
know what the name of the punch is.
. The bow was tied around and the
image is foam dotted on.

Our Beautiful World.....

This week Im joining the Our Beautiful World and Bonita chose the word  BLOOM.
As a former floral designer and gardenerI am passionate about flower!!
I love love them all and my premise
is you can never have to many!!
I am sharing a couple of blooms around my yard. Here in the desert there are
many things you can not grow but still there are plenty of choices and
I am always ready to take a challenge and try things that
aren't normally grown here, sometimes successful sometimes not.

Its already very warm her and the flowers are everywhere.
Saturday while working out in the garden I took a bunch
of these pics.
My white Bougainvillea is just starting to bloom and the bracts  have a pink blush until they
are open a few days

This is a bloom from the Cat Claw Vine.

This is one of my Kalanchoes, but I actually
took the pic because of the beautiful butterfly !!

Alstroemeria are one of my favorite flowers and I have several but this
purple  is my favorite.

This Iris blossom has a crazy story!! About 7 years ago I planted a
Bearded Iris, it was purple and it bloomed every
year until last year. When the blooms came out and
opened lo and behold there is a white Dutch Iris, and here it is again this year!
I am assuming it reverted back to the
original...surprise LOL.

Well I could post a lot more but will stop with these~

Happy Friday!!

Oh so happy to see the weekends just
around the corner, how about you?? Well Ladies Friday means
it's a new challenge here  Tutorial Time with Speedy TV,

 Today Lois Bak has
a great Tutorial on Sponged Sun Rays!
We all went different directions with
this fun one.I made a simple single layer card using the Sun Ray
Technique and then stamped the lighthouse image from the
Island Living Set to create a simple scene. Looks like a very peaceful to be
as long as the weather was good! Don't think I would be much for being
on an island in a big storm!!The sun rays did seem to
be a perfect fit with the lighthouse image. After stamping the image
I colored it up and added the sentiment
from the same set and done.
 No layers so really
Quick and easy!

Just have to say this because it is a rarity these days!
Yesterday was my sweet  mom and dads 70th Wedding Anniversary!!
Not many can say they have been married for that long.

Marks Finest Papers a Heinrich Co. has a very large selection
of Stamp Sets plus a kinds of goodies for all your stamping and Scrapping
needs, so stop by the store and check it out. The new
March Release Stamp Sets are available now

I made a tag today using one of the vintage ladies from the
Out On The Town Set.  I was going for bold and the turquoise
and black make a strong color statement. I embossed the layers
and used a little stitching . Although it doesnt show up much the
image is glitzed up. The Flourish is a Cherry Lynn cut into pieces
and attached with a brad. The sentiment is mounted on a
piece punched with a SU scalloped oval. The little looped
border at the top is also a SU die The die down
the side is the negative from a Moroccan die.
The little black flowers are brads.

 Lots of fun
creations from my teammates!
Be sure to stop over and
 join the fun this week.

Texturing

My turn to do this weeks tutorial for Tutorial Time at Speedy TV
The tutorial can be found HERE. There are so many new products to use
with all the altered art. The modeling pastes give lots of great texture. You
can use joint compound or spackle in place of some of the paste. Some
of the paste has added fibers, you can also add things like sawdust,
sand etc. to the joint compound for more texture.
I used plain store bought paste for this project.

I have this crazy passion for flowers and I love texture. My mom is an amazingly talented artist and she has always been fascinated with the textures and colors in nature. I think she mentioned
it so much growing up I received the same fascination by osmosis LOL!!  I
wanted  to do a art piece instead of a card so I cut a piece
of canvas and started  by using some stencils.
After I got the texture I wanted I let it dry
and began adding inks to create the color..
I used the Cracked Hello,
Brick Wall and Just A Note Sets stamped randomly on the canvas.
For the quote I used the Have Confidence and Today from  the Today,
Tomorrow and Always Set, the rest I printed. The butterfly is
from heavy weight Vellum cut with a Spellbinder die
and jewels added. The  three big flowers are
 made using Spellbinder Rose Creations
and Bitty Blossoms.

The little white ones I just cut and rolled up
some mulberry papers. In person they give a sweet softness
the camera doesnt capture. The leaves I cut out of  some scrap
greens and scrunched them. The tiny lavender flowers
were punched. You can join in the challenge with any type of
project you like as long as you add texture, other than embossing.
My talented teammates have lots of great inspiration for you.
Im sure all you talented ladies have some wonderful ideas
so come join our Challenge this week!

Its time for a new Challenge

Today Team B Tuesday Throwdown is challenging you to make a card using the Tic Tac Toe card above.  My card fits both the top across and center down.

Out sponsor this week is Sami Stamps. The provided us with several different digis to use.
I have used the image Fancy Pillow.
Our kitty is a rescue and only has one eye. Her
mother was a feral cat and the babies had bad eye infections. Dr gave me meds to treat
them with but unfortunately one eye couldnt be saved. We named her Petunia and
she is the princess here. She looks big but actually she is a small cat, doesnt
quite weighs 8 lbs.
. She doesn't look so regal here, curled up in the hay. I snapped this a couple months ago
she usually takes off when I get the camera.  All that to say I chose this image because
it reminds me of our spoiled girl who strikes this pose quite often. Now since our
Petunia has long hair so I took the liberty to add tufts of hair to my image. After
coloring she was cut out and mounted on the black.A little jewel for her collar and
silver for the big tassel attachments. The base was embossed with a paisley folder
and blue pounced on it. The blue and pink die cut were the negatives from a
Spellbinder and Stampin us dies. The fish tale was cut out of metal with a
Spellbinder die, embossed and the sentiment added. A button attaches it
all together. The crown was stamped across and then glitter
was added to the tops of the crowns.

Such a cute little digi and I need cards for some cat lovers so I made a second
card using the cutie image. After coloring the image I added
a little glitz with the gold stickles on her color and along
the pillow edging.

For this one I used some SU dp and cut the burlap with a
Spellbinder and then added the image. The black is
a negative from a die, sorry dont know the name.
I dyed a little ribbon, it looks red but in
person its a nice rusty color. The sentiment was punched
with a Marvy scalloped circle and stickles added to it also.
This one fits the diagonal:  glitz, digi and ribbon.

A color Challenge

Happy Monday hope you all had a great weekend. Our new FOSTV challenge is to use Purple and White. Now purple is my favorite  color so Im happy using this combo. I embossed both my base pieces and added the pretty piece of lace just waiting for the right card to come along. This is one of the March release image from the  Friends Set. Keeping with the color theme I colored the what else but purple, well actually more in the lavender tones. I cut out with a oval Spellbinder cutting out the pieces that over lapped. It is mounted onto a little lavender plaid. The sentiment was stamped from the Just A Note Set and cut with a Spellbinder pennant die.

Altered Items are all the rage

So for today FOSTV is challenging you to alter a box! Im sure you can think
of something fun to made with a  box.. I used an oatmeal box cut in half.
I covered the outside and lid in dp and added some crocheted lace around the
side of the lid.

I made a whole mess of flowers and leaved then attached
to the lid. I have used the smaller flower from the Big Blossoms Set.
Stamping, coloring and cutting out three to space around the sides.
I also cut out hearts and stamped the word Love from the
Love Love Love Set. Using some Spellbinder dies I cut out
greenery to go with the flowers. The bottom cut out
is also a Spellbinder die. I was going to line the inside with
some velvet but my piece was not large enough
so will have to wait until I can get to a fabric
 store.My teammates all had
different ideas for the altered box so be
sure to stop over and visit them.

You have until next Sunday to enter the Challenge

Paper Piercing

Today it's my turn to do the Tutorial and its Paper Piercing, you can find it here.

I used several different items to pierce with for this card, check out the tutorial.
I love this sweet bird image  that I have used and it is from the
Pussy Willow Set. The dp is from the  Prima Botanical Collection.  The white border
under the image was cut with a SU die and then pierced using the
matching SU pattern. I used the cut off piece to add as another
layer then added some twine . After coloring and piercing the
image was matted on the rust and foam dotted on. The
whole card was pierced by stitching around it without thread.
The sentiment is from the  Bring on the Sun Set, pierced
punched and matted onto the rust. That was all foam
dotted on also. Hope you will join in our

winner will receive this stamp set

I know that much of the country is enduring a long hard winter but its time to
dream of spring  Here in the desert southwest Spring started in January. Of
course come May when you all are enjoying delightful weather we will be
enduring the brutal summer heat. I love the wonderful
colors of spring dont you??For this weeks Challenge.I have used an image
from the New March Release Friends being showcased
this week. After coloring I have cut it out with the Spellbinder
Decorative Label One. Colored and cut out one of the hummers
from the Hum Along Set and pop dotted it onto the flower.
The little floral side panels are from the Chateau Lavender
Collection.I also added some embossed vellum to soften it
up a bit.The sentiment if for the Bring on the Sun Set
mounted on a piece cut with a Spellbinder. All was
stitched around. So excited that my husband was
able to fix my  Pfaff, its working and what a pleasure
to sew on a machine that has a nice even
stitch instead of the newer terrible one!

Our Friday Challenge

It is a basically a step
card made to look like the Armoire. The  Tutorial was made for us by Sue,
stop over and see her easy instructions. I embossed my drawer with a little
embossing strip then cut to size and added a brad for the handle. I used the
Spellbinder label to cut the piece out at the bottom of the door. I used
that cut out piece to make a shelf for the shoes. I used a Spellbinder
Scalloped Oval to cut the mirror for the door, after all a mirror is a
must right? Using a piece of wire I made a hanger for my dress and
hung it on the brad.

The dress and shoes are from the
Paper Doll Collection. The decorative top for the armoire is made with
the Spellbinder Fleur De Lis border die.
 My teammates have lots
of fun inspiration for this one so be sure to visit them!

Tuesday Throwdown Team B

Our Challenge this week is A Tent Topper card and our Sponsor is
 Robyn's Fetish.

I have made a tent card with a tent topper on it.
The cute little image My Little Cook was colored and mounted on the
brown mat then embossed with the Dotted Swiss Folder. A piece of
Lost & Found dp was stitched onto the checks then the image added.
The checks and Lost & Found dp was also cut with a Spellbinder
Scalloped Oval and embossed to add to the top of the card. The edge
was cut with a MS daisy border punch and a button added. The letters
for the recipe were cut with a SU die. People are always asking me
for recipes of different things so I like to give them  with some kind
 of fun presentation.

I have made this card to open at the top and inside

I made a detachable pocket that holds recipes. I stitched two pieces together to form the pocket The Ovals cut with Spellbinder Scalloped Oval and once again used the Dotted Swill Folder to emboss. I cut out a little pear since it seemed so plain. I have used brads to attach it to the card and when removed they can stay on for a little embellie. I have had a crazy
busy last three weeks so only have three recipe cards in it right now but will make
more before I give it away.
Our team and guest designer have
lots of beautiful inspiration you will want to see. We would love
for you to join in our challenge this week so stop over for a visit!

Monday Challenge with

Friends of Speedy TV is New Home.I have used a Wicker Weave embossing folder
for half and stitched on the  scrap stripped dp for the other half. The Sentiment
comes from the Tweet That Set The Spellbinder Romantic Rectangle is a mat for
the sentiment. The little white border is a SU Edgelit Die. I used Close to Cocoa
to stamp the roof on the little house and the bottom portion is stamped
using Bordering Blue. The little house is from the  Primitive Farm Set. Some
string wrapped around a few times and tie and the sentiment foam dotted on.
Simple and Quick ready for our friend who is moving back to
Hawaii after being away for almost 30 years. We will really miss
him but we are also sure that an exciting adventure
awaits him as he begins this new phase in
his life. He is leaving with mixed emotions so thought this would
be a fun card to encourage him on the next chapter of his journey.

As always we have lots of great inspiration to jump start you
so be sure to check out my teammates fab creations.
