Tutorial Time with Speedy TV

It's FRIDAY!! Today at TTSTV Kathy has done a  super tutorial
for us on how to make a flap card.  My card was made according to
Kathy's instructions. The top folds over to form the flap to
close the card. Using a PTI filegree bornderdie I added the
scalloped sides. The dp was stitched onto the base.
. The top flap was cut with a Spellbinder Label # 21 as was
the dp. A Spellbinder Fancy Label was
used to cut out the sentiment.
A button tied with a little bow closes the flap.
The single Dogwood flower was colored with Copics
and cut out with the Spellbinder Scalloped Oval
Then matted with another layer and
dots added.A little scrap of lace was
attached to the bottom.

Lots of pics today. Our sponsor is My Grafico
and our theme is Fall Colors. It was 105 here yesterday so
using warm fall colors are a bit of a challenge in itself !
My Grafico generously supplied us with this very
cool set of images called  Magic Meadows.

I have used 4 of the fun images to make a set of note cards.
Used two rust and two burgandy for the base then colored
and cut out all my images. Two of the cards I used double
images overlapped.

 The background are Basic Grey
and some unknow from a friend were stitched on.
Using a SU basket weave folder I embossed and added
a little color for the next layer.
I hung the image with a button on the last two.

 The string was wrapped
around the layers and then tied on with a button.
Lastly a little lace was added. The sentiments were punched
with a leaf and oval punch

Good Morning are you all ready to start a new week?
Not that we have a choice LOL.Our challenge this week
at FOSTV is a fun one...tags & tickets. I chose to make
a tag with some images from one of the new
stamp sets Autumn Splendor. Love these new images
however it is a bit hard to think fall when its still Hot here in
the desert. After coloring my images using water colors
and copics I cut then all out. I liked the dark tag color
and made the plaid dp to go with it. Some stitiching,
embossing and ribbons make a quick fun tag. Hope
you will stop by to see my
 talented teammates wonderful creations.

The winner will receive this stamp set

CR84FN63 Color Challenge

Is it just me or does it seems like there are less hours in the
day LOL! My card was done but I had to work late last
night and go back this am so just getting
my pic and card posted this afternoon.

Entering this card into Mona's Color Challenge today.
Using some Bo Bunny print dp for the base. Using a fleur de lis die
from Spellbinder to cut the brown and then punched the blue
to put underneath. The ribbon and lace was dyed
with a rolled flower for the center.
I do not remember where I picked up
my image that I mounted on a piece punched with a
MS arches punch. Pearls seemed to
fit perfectly in the little cut outs. The Challenges has
lots of beautiful inspiration so check it out!

Tutorial Time Speedy TV

It is my turn to do the tutorial and its about using plant materials. Here in the desert
it has been a long hot summer and there are few flowers this time of year.
That means I didnt have much to work with. I used several different
materials to show different results. You can find the tutorial here. The fun thing
about this technique is that you  get a wide variety of results!!
They will all have a soft water colored look to them.
Some will have distinct shapes some will all run together.
Also colors change..these were a pinkish lavender yet they
printed almost a coral color. Thats the fun of this
 technique, always a surprise!
For my card I have used one of the papers I made with
some little pink snap flowers and potato vine foliage.
After it dried I ran it thru the dotted swiss folder and then stitched it
onto the base. The bottom corners werepunched and then another layer
of white added underneath. The ribbon
was tied on and the sentiment stamped on the Spellbinder tag.

For those of you who live out West did you see the missile contrail
early on Thursday? I went outside to water about
5:30 and saw the beautiful trailings so grabbed my camera to snap
a couple pics. They  fired a Patriot Missile from the NM White Sands
testing grounds and it could be see here in California.
It was just shortly before the sun came up so the sky
was colorful really showing the contrail.

Getting to the FOSTV Challenge today
it is a Bingo Board.
Do three in a row any direction

I chose the diagonal flower, ribbon and 3 punches
My image is from the Bring On The Sun Set. All stamp sets are
found at Marks Finest Papers a Heinrich Co.
After coloring my image I added some Stickles to the bee
wings then cut out with a Spellbinder Scalloped Oval.
After punching the corners on the green I embossed it and then
distressed the edges. I like that it looks like burlap. The
next layers was stitched then distressed and added
to the green layer. The raffia was tied on with the yellow
button and then the brown one stitched on.
All was attached to the sunny yellow base.
I stamped another bee and punched out with a little circle
punch and also punched the sentiment.

My team mates have some beautiful inspiration to help
give you a jump start! Be sure to stop by and join our challenge this
week. If you aren't registered it easy to do no fees just
sign up and you are good to go.

Tutorial Time with Speedy TV #15

This week our fun Challenge is to make a
shaker card. My card is made using the Black Eyed Susan
Non of my little holders worked so I finally ended up
using a blister pack that had brads in it. Since it is a garden
theme I used flower seeds for my shaker
The seed pack is put on with some
foam tape so it can easily be popped off and used.
I colored my Susans with copic markers and
foam dotted one on for some added dimension.
The yellow scalloped strip is cut with a Spellbinder.
I liked the fun dotted ribbon but since it
was so thin I added it to the wider brown.

Be sure to join us in the new Challenge, the
team has lots of different fun creations!

The winner will take home this lovely Asian Delights set this week....

Tuesday Throwdown

Are you ready for a  new Tuesday Throwdown? Our sponsor is
My Heart Pieces and they have given us these cute images to use.
Today it is Team B's turn to inspire you with their creations.
Our theme is totally easy peasy yup and easy...You're a GEM
I am using  the sweet Oisi image. She reminded me of my daughter
. My daughter had the whitest curliest hair and biggest blue
eyes you ever saw.

I combined a checked and a small floral print
to make a springy fun card. Lots of stitching, a little embossing
and some edges punched with MS arches punch. I stamped a
second image to put on the inside.

 The little strawberries were
cut with a spellbinder die.The front is held closed with
the little strawberry. Finished of with the red jewels
 and the hand dyed ribbon.
The inside is has strawberries and jewel embellies.
My talented teammates have some Great cards to get

Friends of Speedy TV

Seems Mondays come too fast don't they! It's a new challenge today
at FOSTV. The challenge is to case a card. In other words you find
someones card you like a make one similar to it and be sure to tell
us who that it. I chose to case a card of Brenda's at Benzi Stamps
. Because my image was more square I had to flip her lo
but did it pretty similar. I didnt have the snowflake cutout so just
have the embossed layer. Mine looked pretty dull so I did
mount it on the green. Be sure to stop by and see the
 teams Great cards.

This is the stamp set for one lucky winner.

CR84FN Color Challenge

Do you have those weeks when it all goes awry??
Anyways I started this on Monday and just finally
got it finished up today. We have had quite a few
outages this week and it always seems  to happen a
night when I was going to work  and then when
I went to post it today. Since we have electricity right now Im
going to post it fast!! I needed a little friend gift
so I made this hanging. Started by creating some raised
areas using modeling paste then colored using both paints and stains.
Stamped with a variety of old stamps.
For the framed image I cut a couple layers with an old
Spellbinder die then cut  the center
out with a square Fleur De Lis. Using an old stamp I cut out
just the lady to add to the frame. We used to get some of our
orders in the white corrugated sheets so I saved
a big roll of them. I used some green stain
on it then cut out the leaves and used a little modeling
paste on them. I made the flower and attached with
some cheesecloth. Two layers were cut out
with a Cherry Lynn butterfly die and pearls
added to the body. A little cording
for a hanger and its done.

Stamps & Fun= Creativity Challenge

This weeks challenge is anything but a card.
I love making these albums and just started another one, this
is the cover. Starting with a piece from the Kaiser Kraft
Sweet Nothing Collection, I distressed the edges.

 Using modeling paste I
covered the flowers and some on the birds
to create dimension then colored them.I also used some
dimension paint, water colors and stitching
to enhance areas. The border strip
down the side is from PTI, colored with some
Ranger Inks and Stains. Used the same inks and stains on
the chipboard flourish. I made the big flower with the
button center. The sentiment was mounted onto one of the
Spellbinder fancy tags.I didnt have any wide ribbon that
I liked to tie it shut so will have to wait on that.
When I finish I will show you some of the inside.

Spellbinder Scalloped Oval and all the images added.
