Tutorial Time with Speedy TV

Happy Friday!! A three day weekend for me and Im doing a
happy dance... Our Tutorial Time Challenge  is using
 Chalks and blender pens.

I embossed the bg then went over
it several times with yellow, brown and green chalk
. The sunflower is from our new Bring on The Sun Set
. Don't Sunflowers always make you smile with
their cheery faces? Not a lot of shading since I have
limited colors. I stamped and colored
two images, then cut out the flower itself and foam dotted
it on for added dimension. The sentiment is also from
the same set and I stamped the two little bees on it and tied it
on with a double strand of ribbon.Image is mounted on a
piece of B&W diamond check that I salvaged from a
box of Sees candy then mounted that all on black.
My talented teammates have lots of Wonderful inspiration
so stop by to join us this week.

The winner will take home this Beautiful set!

Tuesday Throwdown #113

Our Tuesday Throwdown Challenge is brought to you by Team B
this week. Our Challenge is Color Crazy and our sponsor is
Digital Delights. This is colors you don't ordinarily use. I
don't often use yellows and oranges. The plaid
dp contributed to my choices of color combo to use.
You may need blinders as I have used some very
bright colors this week.
I have used the Haystacks the Scarecrow. After coloring I cut him
out with the Spellbinder Scalloped Oval. I cut my card front in
half and attached the plaid dp then using two ovals I
attached one to each side. The plaid is punched with
 the MS daisy punch.

On the inside I made a pocket and
stitched on the whole thing. This card is for my grandson
and the pocket had some money tucked
 into it for him.

Friends of Speedy TV #

Isn't is amazing how the weekends speed by!! So our
new  FOSTV challenge is a Labor Day theme.
Labor Day was founded to celebrate the economic and social
contributions of workers. It is usually a day of enjoying your
favorite pastime or just resting. Using an image
from the Island Life Set, looks like where
I would like to spend my labor day!
Things have been quite hectic lately and
I struggled with what to do sooo I decided to
  make a real C&S card.
After scoring the 3 lines I stamped,  water
colored the image and made some clouds,,, Done!  My sentiment
is from the Today, Tomorrow and Always set.

My card is not curved But all my pics always look like they
are. Anyone have any advice??

Tutorial Time with Speedy TV #13

This week Lois Bak made a tutorial for a criss cross card.
You can find her detailed tutorial Here.
LOTS of pics today...enjoy
My criss cross card is actually a pocket to hold 4 recipe
cards. I love love to cook and am always game for trying
out new recipes. I like to make fun recipe cards
for gifts. For this project I have used the
fabulous new Hot & Spicy Set, perfect for my recipe
cards. I  colored and cut out lots of the chili images, and
the sentiment for the belly band.
Marks Finest Papers a Heinrich Co.has a
wonderful selection of stamp sets and New Releases
each month. You are sure to find a set for every need!
Chilies and Spicy food is native here in the Southwest
and my personal favorite to cook and eat!
I made my criss cross card according to Lois's
directions. Adding a piece of  Southwest
cooking dp to the front. My sewing machine is
making me crazy,,,stitching all messed up so had
to do faux stitching on the project. The little
belly band holds it together.
As you can see I used different Spellbinder dies
to cut out the recipes, for the belly band and
a couple to make the tabs. Do you like Salsa?
I can eat bowls of it!  Lately the trend is to make
Salsas with fruits other than tomatoes. I have made some
recipe cards with a few of my favs.

I think you can see the recipes well enough to give
them a try, the peach is really delightful These recipes
are mild for those who don't want much heat but  if
you like it really spicy you can
amp it up with more chiles...

These recipes are fun because you can
change them up a bit by adding other fruits and you
can use them on meats, rice, tortillas, breads,
fruits, even cheesecake.

I should have colored some of the chilies yellow
and orange but don't you think they were the perfect
embellies for these recipe cards?

The criss cross pocket with recipes
will go into one of the  recipe books
I am making for my girls.

This weeks winner will take home
this lovely stamp set!

We have crazy fires raging all along the
river. It is very dry and has been very hot for the past
week averaging about 117 degrees. It is monsoon
time and beside the humidity the monsoons bring lots
of  lightening. They say this fire was started
by lightening. The whole sky is lit up red tonight
When I went to look early this am it is now
several miles long. Not sure about any
property damage.
UPDATE: fire is controlled just Lots of smoke

So onto this weeks challenge..  Team B's  theme is
Sweet Treats. Our sponsor is My Grafico.
The variety of cute cupcakes made it easy to make a sweet
card. After water coloring my cupcake I cut it out. Using
the Spellbinder Beaded Circle I punched a star in each bead
and foam dotted on my cupcake.
The dp was scraps so no names. I reduced the little
cupcakes, colored and attached to the stars pennants.A little lace
and ribbon to dress it up a bit. I hope you will stop by and say

Friends of Speedy TV #32

It's Monday already and a new challenge at FOSTV,
Very simple theme, use chalk. After embossing the base
I used chalk to highlight the embossed areas. Coloring the image
with chalk was a little more difficult since I dont have many
colors to do the shading and highlighting.

 My image is from the
Cut out with a Spellbinder label #18. I cut and layered the

Tutorial Time with Speedy Tv # 10

Wohoo its Friday, I so love  weekends!! I have time to
garden, to create and my husband and I can work
together on projects around the house.
This is a bit of a long post with several pics.

Today the talented Jane Chambers has done a super tutorial
for our challenge, Double Diagonal Pocket Card. I
have never done one  but with the Jane's easy tutorial I was
able to whip it up rather quickly! For the base of the
card I cut and folded the double sided dp acording to the
turtorial. I added the striped pieces to edge the two
pockets. For the front I cut the stamped sentiment,
cut out with the Spellbinder Square Fleur Di Lis
them mounted on the embossed pink. That was
all added to the grey piece cut with the
Spellbinder Floral Oval. Next I punched the pink
with a MS arches punch adding the striped edges to
that as well then ran the ribbon down the center
and wrapped around the card tying up with the bow.

Using the delightful Relax A Bit stamp set,
I stamped the tea cup, teapot. teabag and several of the
sentiments for my tags. After water coloring I cut them
all out. In my stash I found the Fabscraps High Tea dp,
just perfect to go with my images!! Using the Spellbinder
Label# 16 I cut the top of the tags then stitched
on each of them.

On the first one I  punched the bottom with a
MS zig zag punch then cut a flower out with a
Tim Holtz die my niece just gave me, adding a big button
center then mounted onto a grey piece cut with a Spellbinder
Beaded Circle. Used some cheesecloth behind the teacup
and added the teabag. Finishing it off with the sentiment,
 buttons and ribbons.

On the second one I punched the
edge, used some of the striped portion of the dp then
added some fun doodle dots, the teapot and the torn out
sentiment mounted on a grey piece cut with a Spellbinder
Fancy Tag. The little rolled flower was cut with a Spellbinder
die and then finished embellishing with a little lace,
buttons and ribbons. I will tuck in a few packages of
my favorite herbal teas when I give this card
to go with some homemade cookies.
All the images and sentiments can be
The team has done a great job on creating lots of
inspiring creations, so you will want to stop by to see them!
