FOSFTV Challenge #18 & Made Especially 4 You

I have two post today...please scroll down for Made Especially 4 you

Prize for the winner of this weeks challenge~~~
Friends of Speedy TV is looking for a May Day...May  themed card...
For those of you who are old enough you will remember the school
days when you used to make a May basket filled with flowers and
hang it on a special someones door knock and run. I loved
making the little cone shaped baskets and finding pretty
flowers to fill them. Today I have  made a little basket for
my card. I cut out a triangle and embossed with the
SU basket weave folder then added some
 lace trim and pearls.

Using the Black Eyed Susan Mini stamp set I stamped each image twice, colored
and cut them all out.My card is made from  My Minds Eye along with the
Gina K and SU solids. Using a Spellbinder die I cut out the square lavender
doily and added some faux stitching and pearls. The ribbon was dyed to match
and the a little embossed butterfly added

Daisy edge and embossed with the dotted swiss folder. I ran
a strip of the dyed ribbon around the center.

The sentiment is and old SU which I thought was perfect for my
card. I cut the sentiment out with the Spellbinder label #
After cutting and rolling my flowers I added a little stickles to them.
Added some leaves and more of the dyed ribbon for a bow.
Lastly I added a touch of the brown with the Cherry Lynn
butterfly. A little stickles on the body for some extra shimmer.

Pixie Cottage Challenge

Today will be the last challenge for the Pixie Cottage until Sept.

Michelle has a big load and needs a little time to regroup so we will be taking
the summer off but will  come back in the fall
refreshed. I want to say a special thanks to Michelle for having me
on her team as I have learned and grown so much since starting.
Hope you will join us in this challenge. As always
you have a choice of sketch  and/or theme of Mother's Day or
a Special Woman. I have used the
Pixie Cottage Lily image for my card today. I love this image because
depending on the colors you can do so much with it. I stamped
it twice, water colored and then cut them out to layer. After
cuttting the mat outwith a Spellbinder label #
I embossed then attached the lillies. I stitched on  the
Fab Scraps dp then attached the lace and the
dyed ribbon. A few little jewels for some girly sparkle.
The sentiment was cut with a
Spellbinder label #16 and attached to a
Spellbinder die from the Parisian Accents.
Stop by to see the lovely creations all of my teammates have made.

Tuesday Throwdown Challenge

Our new challenge is Sparkly and our sponsor is The Cutting Cafe.

They gave us a great selection of images to work with.
You will definitely want to take a peak at their wonderful variety
of images and cutting files!! What fun these were to
work with! I used one of  the daisy printed bodies and did a
little light water coloring on it then attaching to the
dotted wings. After painting the dress form
stand gold I added the body to it.  A little sash fastened
with a pin after all it is a dress form right. I have
pinned many a outfit on one!

I added a little jewel flower to
the neck for some sparkle. After using
a Spellbinder die to cut the flowers I used brown
and black Stickles for their centers.A few flourished and
leaves for the flower and then cut the sentiment
with a Spellbinder reverse scallop.
After stitching on the dp I distressed the edges.
Lastly I added white
centers to the dots on the wings. These were
such fun images to use and such a variety that
there were just a ton of possibilities with
them. It was hard to settle on just one.
The Team has lots of inspiration for you
so be sure to stop by Tuesday Throwdown and
join us in the Sparkly fun!

FOSTV Challenge # 17 ~~~

Today at Friends of Speedy TV's challenge is Flowers. You can find a great selection
of stamp sets at Marks Finest Papers a Heinrich Co. The free set for the
winner of this weeks challenge is Dogwood Blossoms.
I have used the pansies, butterfly and sentiment from the Today, Tommorw and Always
set. Don't you just love those little pansies with their sweet little faces
and such a variety of colors and sizes the come in.

After stamping the pansies twice I decided to go with some bold colors and
water colored all the images. I cut out
the butterfly and one pansy. The main image was cut with
a  Spellbinder Scalloped Oval then foam  mounted on the Spellbinder
Floral Oval. The front pansy was foam dotted on to add some
dimension to the image.
A EK sucess punched border in two colors was added across
the card. The floral dp was  embossed and stitched then the image
mounted. A ribbon was hand dyed to match and a
bow tied. The butterfly was cut out and mounted as
was the sentiment  Small pearls were added to the four flower centers
on the floral die cut. We would love to have you stop over
and join us in this weeks challenge.

PIXIE COTTAGE CHALLENGE

The Pixie Cottage has a new challenge for you today.
I don't usually use the sketch but I did today, taking a little
liberty with it. As always you can chose the sketch and/or theme
which is green & gorgeous.

I flipped the sketch sideways for this one. I've been
hoarding these dps for quite a while so was the
perfect time to let go of them. Because the sweet
little Hannah images always make me smile I
chose her today. After water coloring her I matted
her on what else but green. The sentiment was
matted and attached to the Spellbinder Fancy
Tag with a couple jewels. The pretty little green
border is a Paper Trey Ink die I won a while
back, not sure of the name. My lace was stitched on
and a little dyed ribbon added. The bow was tied
with the green button. Certainly went with the green
theme this time. Now you might want to use the green
angle and join us. Be sure to stop over to see all the
cards my talented team mates have made this week.
They are beautiful!

TUESDAY THROWDOWN CHALLENGE

Good Morning Friends it's time for another challenge over at Tuesday Throwdown
and our sponsor this week is Meljen's Designs .

Our fun theme is recycled materials~~ we all have something we
can recycle right?
Most of my project is recycled items. Starting with the base which is paneling, the
washers from my husbands garage, the cardboard from a box, used sisal
string and the buckle and red hankie my husband donated to my cause.
He's a pretty helpful guy.
My nephew just had his first son and this is for him.
The sweet image is Lil Rodeo Boy which I water colored, cut
out with a Spellbinder Label #1 then stitched onto the blue. I
made little banners to attach the letters to and hung on the white ribbon.
I burned a couple spots on the cardboard. After cutting a strip of
hankie I stitched the MS checkerboard punched border onto it.
I like the buckle attached to the old piece of leather so left it on it.
The washers cover the drilled holes. Cut another strip off the hankie
for the bow at the top of the sisal hanger. The team has some
great inspiration and actually they have some funny stories
about the recycled items so be sure to stop by and visit them and
then show us your recycled projects!!

FOSTV Challenge #16 Anything Goes

New week new beginning....Hope you had a good weekend. Here in the desert we had some much much needed rain. Today it is beautiful and sunny and everything is all washed clean. Today at Friends of Speedy TV we have a easy Challenge...anything goes. I have used the Cowgirls Rule image and it just so happens to be the free one for this weeks give away. This stamp set and many other can be found at Mark's Finest Papers and Stamps a Heinrich Co.
This image sooo reminds me of my
daughter. Her dad was a team roper and
she rode from time she was young.
She can ride like the wind! She had
several horses but the one she had
longest was a beautiful cutting horse
named Joe. They just clicked from
the get go. They would ride for hours
out in the desert and along the river
.She was Rodeo Queen for our area so
we traveled to rodeos in Ca, Az
and Nv she did gymkhanas, rode with
a drill team of ladies and did some team
roping with her dad but barrel racing was
her favorite. I am going thru old photos and
lots of memorabilia and decided to make her an album to put some of her pics etc into.
Because she is married to a military man and they move every three years she isnt able to keep a horse now, but when she comes home she always makes time to ride her dads horses. This image was perfect for the cover. I water colored the horse like her Joe. Also water colored the sign and hat. Cut the hat out and attached. Layered and stitched the image and stitched the floral base onto the paper bag. I used some silver Stickles on the barbed wire and horse bridle. Used a MS zig zag punch for the bottom border. Tied the holes with some ribbon and a ribbon to tie it closed with since it will be quite fat once it is filled. My team mates also have some Great Inspiration for you so be sure to stop by and join us this week.

PIXIE COTTAGE CHALLENGE & PASSIONATELY ARTISTIC

Are you all ready for a new Pixie Cottage challenge today?? We have
a sketch and/or theme you can use. Today the theme is paper piecing.
The team has some wonderful examples so head on over and join the fun.
I have used one of the delightful Hannah images. I paper pieced her boots
and her umbrella. I popped the edge of the umbrella slightly for a little
more dimension. After water coloring her I cut her out with a
Spellbinder label # . Using alcohol inks I made the mat for a stormy
look then ran thru the dotted swiss folder to mimic raindrops.
The flower was made using some of the inked paper and some
of the SU that I pieced the umbrella with. It was run thru the
SU basket weave folder. The edging is made with a MS
arched punch. All is matted onto a dp that had little circles
all over it reminding me of water.

Scrapalicious: April Showers
Papercraft Star: Use an umbrella

Sadly this is my last post with Passionately Artistic.
The time has come to say goodby. I must lighten the load a bit.
I have so enjoyed being on Maggie's talented team and hope
you will continue to join in their challenges. Today I have
made simple a man card for one of the grandsons up coming
birthday. Pretty simple using this beautiful majestic eagle
image I have had forever. It was lightly colored so I just darkened
it all up a bit then cut the wing out. A little layering, buttons, string
and sentiment says it all.

TUESDAY THROWDOWN CHALLENGE

Can you believe it already Tuesday again~ Our new TT Challenge is Use Pins
Our sponsor My Graffico gave us these lovely frames.

They are lacy and I thought they would be perfect to use in a vintage LO. I cut around each of the frames then mounted the pics. This is a pic of my daughter at age 5 dressed in a vintage outfit. The other pic is her great great grandmother at age 15. I love the hats! I have some vintage hat pins that I was going to use to go along with the hats but of course I have put them away in
some very safe place..so safe I wasn't able to find them
LOL Hope Im not the only one that does such crazy things!! So I started this LO going a different direction but a few Big hic ups redirected and this is what I came up with. Stitched some of the dps and stamped some fourishes on them.I also cut out a piece of border. I just love tatting but have never been able to conquer it. I have some treasured pieces in my stash and these 3 little flowers seemed perfect to go along with the theme. My sweet mama just gave me a big jar full of every size of vintage pearl beads you can image. It was perfect timing to add a few to this LO. My buttons are also old vintage ones from one of my many buttons tins. Since both pics also have flowers I added lots of those too. I thought the little pop of red added some fun to the LO.
I was really pleased with how this LO turned out but one struggle with this is that it looks curved but it is totally flat. I guess it is the angle that I hold my camera. If you have any tips feel free. Entering Challenges:

attach to the frame.

and foam dotted on.
