TUESDAY THROWDOWN CHALLENGE

Our Tuesday Throwdown Challenge is sets. Our Sponsor My Graffico gave us this wonderful precolored set. I found some aqua and gold dotted dps to coordinate with the images. I cut the aqua and gold mats then ran thru a embossing folder then added the image with a little added stickles. Faux stitching, a button, ribbon and the raised dots complete these simple little cards.

I made a little fold over envelope to hold the set. I made a triple fold on the bottom and punched the fold over edge with at MS punch. Added one of the images to the front and faux stitched around the sides. The cards tuck inside and it is tied closed with a hand dyed ribbon.

A little water color and stickles for some girly glitz on the image then cut out with the Spellbinder Label 10.The matching sentiment was punched out with the SU ovals.

The Family Genes

have overtaken my sweet niece. My parents and siblings are very talented and creative. When our daughters were young they would always groan about going to the craft and art stores.
We used to tease them that they couldn't escape the genes. They have all fallen in spite of their vehement I will never....

If you follow my blog you know we are all meeting at my little
sisters tomorrow for an extended weekend. Her daughter lives in Washingtion State and
is not able to come join us so she sent me the Beautiful card today. Kait just turned 19
and has recently started making cards.

I am so very proud of her and just
wanted to share my Wonderful card with you all.
Have a Happy Weekend :)

Passionately Artistic has lots of great inspiration for you this week. Be sure to stop by and join in the summer theme. My easel card is made from an old image that I don't know the name of. I water colored
it and cut it out and foam mounted on the blue print layer.
Closer view of this pretty little image

The blue was cut with a lacey square
Spellbinder and foam dotted on. The white layer was cut with a Spellbinder
label #16 and foam dotted on. You can see the dimension from
layers here.
The green print layer was punched with a MS looped edge and corner punch then
mounted on the white. Aqua pearl paint dots at each loop. The bow is made
with pink dyed ribbon. A butterfly attached at the corner is glitzed up
with stickles.

The bottom has a layer of solid aqua, printed blue and green print. The prints are punched with the MS looped punch and attached. There are three buttonsused as the stop. More pearl dots and aqua jewels across the front.
The sentiment was cut with a Spellbinder label #4 and a jewel added.

Friday I'm leaving to go to my little sisters for an extended weekend with all
the girls of the family Wohoo!!

Now Wednesday means its time for a new challenge at The Pixie Cottage. You can use
the theme Fun With Food and/or use the sketch.

I am literally using the food theme. I made some Cinnamon Apple Sauce and am using the
Apple Hannah and Apple Bench for my card, recipe tag, jar cover
and label.

For my card I recycle some black checked wrapping paper from some Sees Candy. The
images are water colored and mounted on the red.
I used a SU punches for my sentiment.

I cut the tag and used a MS daisy corner punch for the top. Three strips of the checks
and then added the recipe and punched a little apple.

The label was cut with a Spellbinder label # and run thru the dotted swiss
folder and faux stitched. I cut two layers of the apple to decorate it.

I masked and stamped just the basket of apples on the fabric and colored it with
fabric paints. A little stitching around the bottom and
tied on with a little dotted ribbon.

Heart Song Inspiration's theme this week is lace. Dig in your lace stash and come show us your
creations.

I didnt have any black lace and had to dye some to go with my card. I just love this Heart Song image called Bird and Roses . You can color your bird so many different ways and the flowers different colors, very versatile. I water colored the image and then used chalk to add a little color to the background. It is cut out with a Spellbinder Label # 20 then faux stitched around. The lacy little corners were cut out with a cutter with no name die. Some jewels in the corners and a sentiment finish it off.

The Pixie Cottage is looking for your fun in the sun creations and/or the sketch. The digital image is Chatty by Artish found here.

I made this as a gift card for my Sister. My daughter and grandbabies are here from Tennesee.
My youngest sister and her have planned a girls time at my sister's home in Paso Robles, Ca.
My mom, sister, 3 nieces, my two daughters all their children and myself will all be traveling to Paso for a extended girls weekend. We have not all been together for several years and never just the girls so this will be a real special time. They have planned things for the children and adults. My sisters husband will be the resident chef and her son and husband will be in charge of the children while the girls to their thing.

My job is to make the gift card so we call chip in to help defray costs. This is the pocket on the inside of the card to stash the cash in.

Since there will be a bucket load of us sleeping everywhere I thought this was the perfect image for the gift card!!First I water colored the image, cut out and and attached to the embossed mat. After punching the edge with the MS Daisy punch I cut out the sentiments with Spellbinder label #11 and foam dotted on.
Next I attached the handmade flower and then wrapped the ribbon around twice and tied in a double bow.

I also made a little matching tag to stick inside.

Passionately Artistic

Our Challenge at Passionately Artistic is all things summer. Sunflowers are such sunny flowers so I'm using and old Penny Black image today. I love this old border image that is so versatile. The image is water colored and attached to the navy mat. The sentiment is punched and attached to the Spellbinder Label. Raffia seems so right with sunflowers but I gave the last of mine to a friend so had to use the navy satin ribbon.
The center of the yellow is embossed with a dotted swiss folder. I cut out a couple layers of petals and added a little ink shading. Then drew, cut out and water colored the center and leaves. I used a button to lift up the center then foam dotted the sunflower on.

PIXIE COTTAGE CHALLENGE

We have some wonderfully talented new team members at The Pixie Cottage be sure to stop by and see their creations. Our challenge today is Wet & Wild.

I used a little cricut dp paper for the background then embossed some Bazzill paper. Since my little Opal the Turtle is a water turtle I used circles to represent water bubbles. Is this little image the absolute cutest~~~Such a fun little scene on the shell and sweet face. She is water colored then cut out and foam dotted on, with her head pieced on top of that. The white background was cut with a Scalloped Oval and colored with chalks. Aqua pearls scattered around. A sheer white ribbon bow tied with a button. Finally I cut "bubbles" out of some acetate but they really didnt show so I added stitching around them. This is a close up so you can see them.

TUESDAY THROWDOWN CHALLENGE

Today at Tuesday Throwdown we are thinking ahead. Our Challenge today is Christmas in July. Time to get a jump on the Christmas Cards. Our sponsor is Robyn's Fetish and I am using the little Elf Elsie image.

Using a striped scrap that is stitched in black with a strip reversed and mounted onto the MS snowflake punched strip. I have used foam dots to attach the image. A red zipper down the side for a little fun and a tag tied on with some gold ribbon and a little bell. WHY didnt I used silver to match the zipper you ask. Because I was so focused on the little bells on the little elfs shoes and finding a bell to match I totally forgot the zipper was silver until I started adding the gold dots. Its called too much going on and not paying attention to details ;)

The team and our GD Debbie have some great cards so be sure to stop by for a visit.
