PIXIE COTTAGE CHALLENGE

Our challenge for Pixie Cottage is Strawberries and Cream. My interpretation is the pink red and white color theme for my card. Our little baby image can be found here.

I used a pink scrap for the base and then cut a paper doily in 4ths. Each corner was faux stitched and then dotted with pink pearl dimensional paint.Versatile Baby Blake can be colored to be a boy or girl. This was water colored a little pink bow added and cut out with a Spellbinder scalloped oval and matted on red. I punched the little flowers with the pink scraps and then a little pearl dotted center. The girl ribbon was attached with a little flower brad.

TUESDAY THROWDOWN CHALLENGE

Tuesday Throwdown is sponsored by My Grafico this week and our Challenge is red white and blue. We were given a set of fun precolored digi flower and border images called spotsy dotsy floral collection.

I duplicated one of the open daisy images to form a chain, cut it out and put across the bottom. I then used a couple other flower images cut out and foam dotted on. I added button centers to all the flowers. Next added the daisy precolored border. The red border is a MS daisy punch. A RW&B ribbon and punched tag finished the
card.

Just returned last night from our 43rd Reunion( Wow can we really be that old?) this weekend.... it way to short!! Here are a couple pics. We floated down Oak Creek a couple times, hiked, shopped, spent lots of time visiting and of course grazed on all the wonderful food :)
I took a bunch of old hats and scarves. Ended up one hat short so I had to wear a scarf :)
Another girl brought these fifties cat eye sunglasses so we took lots of fun photos around the property where we were staying.
This year an emergency arose and one had to leave but this is the crazy group which we have jokingly become known as the Ya YA Sisters.

We all started kindergarten together one left in our sophomore and one in our junior year the rest of us graduated together.

I made a pansy putting stickles around the edges and the two little posies have stickle centers also. Two buttons tied together form the stop.

Since Fathers Day is right around the corner thats our theme for today.

I had to be sneaky to get this card made for my husband. He usually wants to see each card so this one I had to do under cover :) I loved this cool Vintage Norton Motorcycle image I got from Stitchy Bear.

Although this image is not a Harley my husband will love it. His motorcycle is his only transportation and he rides it rain or shine....Sooo he is definately a motorcycle kinda guy. I liked the zipper, it reminded me of a roadway and the piece of metal behind the sentiment was run thru a diamond plate folder. The little stars were also punched out of metal. I had put a red clip on it for a pop of color but just liked the monochromatic look so took it back off. Pretty clean and simple.

With the rose attached I outlined the oval with some dots also around the bottom. I also used the dots to outline the bottom the lid and for the base. Punched out the tag, dotted and tied on with a little yellow ribbon.

RAK

Wohoo Would you check this out!! I have to say since I have started blogging I have met tons of amazing Ladies who are so kind. As you may know my cuttlebug and my sewing machine recently broke. You don't realize how much you use them till you don't have them. No cutting embossing or sewing becomes a real challenge when creating that for sure. LOL Over the past year and a half several Ladies have emailed me with tips and instructions, my friend Martha has sent several care pkgs, Mona called me and helped me with making links etc. and yesterday Brenda ( you may know her as Benzi Stampz) blessed me with this big envelope full of all kinds and colors of die cuts and embossed papers to use until I can get a new machine. So I just wanted to take the time to say a big THANKS to Brenda and to ALL of you have helped and encouraged me along the way on this wonderful journey of creativity and friendships. HAPPY FRIDAY TO YOU ALL :)

PIXIE COTTAGE CHALLENGE

Our Pixie Cottage Challenge this week is Anything but a card....there are so many possibilities to this challenge. Be sure to stop by and see my teammates awesome creations this week!
I decided to make a birdhouse. To start I printed lots of the Dew Drop Dahlia by Artish and water colored them. I cut them out to put all round the bottom of the birdhouse and on the tag.

I made a little tag to go along with the birdhouse. I recycled a peanut can for my little house. I cut the hole and covered with papers from the Heartwarming Vintage Collection. I used some scallops circle punches for the opening. The roof edge and the bottom trellis used MS punches.I found this old piece of green cotton lace for the bottom. Sorta looks like grass doesn't it?? Dug in the button box and found some green, blue and white buttons to go around the bottom. Added a little twig for a perch.

My friend Martha suggest I make the roof removable. I cut a circle and overlapped to create the little peaked roof. I cut out the rest of the flowers and added two layers for each one and attached to the roof along with leaves. Added a bow made with hand dyed ribbon.

I'm filling it with chocolate drops for my Dad. My dad feeds the wild birds and do they have his number! They all stop by every morning for breakfast. It is a little girly but he will love it first because I made it for him and second cuz its filled with his favorite.... Chocolate drops!
