For Three Challenges : Stampin Sisters in Christ & The Pink Elephant & Crafty Creations

This card is for Stampin Sisters in Christ Challenge & The Pink Elephant Challenge & Crafty Creations Challenge. Stampin Sisters Challenge was a New Years Card and The Pink Elephant was a great sketch and Crafty Creations was glitter & bling. I apologize for the poor pic , I"m feeling so frustrated with this camera just need a better one but shouldnt complain it's better than none right! This background dp is a beautiful graphic 45 covered with vintage women which doesnt show up very well. I used the MS scalloped punch for the black strip then added little gold glitter dots at each scallop. I added this gold decor from my stash. The beautiful women is from stamp oasis. I added 4 strands of black beads and attached to her ear with a golden bead.I looked high and low for some black feathers to add but alas none to be found. Feathers and beads go with this era!! I punched her with a scallop circle and then punched creme and black with the reverse scallop nestie. I added a little extra aging to the creme to match the background dp. little brads in each corner and at the bottom a little gold word that says HOPE and glittered 2010.

Crazy 4 Challenges # 17

This card is for the Crazy 4 Challenges. It was a layout challenge. I stamped a big pansy image and cut part of it out and watercolored it. Cut a circle of black and although doesnt show I ruffed the edges and punch holes all around to weave the ribbon thru. I used a white cardstock and stamped half with a little pansy stamp and then outlined with stickles. I cut the black and grey checked then used the MS zigzag punch to make the black strip. I zigzag stitched around the check and the ran four lines of curvy stitching around the white. I stamped the just because and then added it onto the ruffed up black and then onto the lavender. Added 3 pearls in the left corner.

Friday Sketchers

This card is for the Friday Sketchers Challenge. I found this great challenge with a layout thought I would try. Although the colors dont show properly the base color is a goldenorange with a layer of grungy green and then a layer of orange with green dots both from My Minds Eye. I double stitched around the orange. Used some SU florishes and my friends stamp called beauty . I punched the brown with a EK morrocan and the flower is punched from circle and sniped and shaped put together with a brad. Tore the brown and darkened the edges before mounting the face. Used the little flower border and cording from my stash.Added brown stickles along the edge of the flowers to match the paper finished with a little vellum butterfly and the little gold jewels

Just Us Girls Challenge

This is for the Just Us Girls Challenge. The challenge was to make something from a template. and blue if possible. I saw something similar to this on line and made a purse template up from it since I didnt have any templates. I have made several of these and filled with gifts for the ladies in my Womens Ministry. You cut 2 7" circles and cut off the top and bottom. Punch a circle or oval for the handle can add a little suround or not. You then cut a strip 31/2" wide and 11"long. Fold the edges in 1/2" along each side then about 2" on each side crease in half so you will be able to close it. Next fasten onto the circle starting at the center bottom and coming up each side shaping it to follow the circle as you go. I decorated mine with a white strip punched with a MS dot scallop punch and stitched edge, then cut out leaves and fold and shape. Punch several different sizes of round punches and cut and shaped petals. Punch holes in centers and put together. Tie closed with a bow.

Two Challenges : Just us Girls & Stampin' Sisters in Christ

This card is for the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge and the Just us Girls Challenge. Just us girls challenged us to use red, pink, green and kraft. Stampin' Sisters in Christ challenged us with a layout. I used the MS doily and snowflake punch for the pink white and red stripe. I used a flower punch for the three red flowers with a pearl in the center of each. The tilda is colored pink with red roses and red glitter headband and mounted on green cut out with the reverse scallop nestie. The backgound pink red and green dp is from colorbox. I used the oval punch for the sentiment and then finished off with a red ribbon. Everyone Have Blessed Christmas!!

My Minds Eye Flower Blog Challenge #6

This is for the My Minds Eye Flower Challenge. My favorite thing to make! My large flowers petals are made with a punch then sniped and shaped. I had to glue two pieces of paper together so that the color was on both sides for that flower. The center is a paper strip cut and fringed and rolled. Then I cut thin little strips in two colors to make the stamens. The pink bachelor buttons are made the same as the centers for the large flowers just more rolls to make them larger. The pink and green medium flowers are made with round punches and then sniped and layered with different sizes and colors to create the flowers. The tiny flowers are two sizes of a daisy punch layered to make them full. I used the papers from the Totally Girl Collection. This was great fun. My camera isnt the best and cant zoom too much so it doesnt capture colors very true. In person the colors are quite lovely. A couple of closer ups so you can see the flowers better.

Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge

Todays card is for the Stampin Sisters in Christ Challenge. Kristine chose Matthew 6:19-21, a very powerful Scripture to challenge us to examine our lives and motives. The challenge was to use some of your treasures that you had be saving. She must have been looking in my treasure box. :) I had this wonderful flourish that I have been "saving" along with the pretty piece of gold ribbon. I chose the partridge in pear tree image because is suppose to represent Christ. After coloring with watercolors and using chalk to shade around it I mounted it off center on the dark gold paper and attached pearls to the corners. I cut out the little tag and mounted the sentiment then attached the ribbon with more pearls. I added a few little stickle dots on each side. Then I used glitter and stickles to encrust the flourish with gold and tied a piece of ribbon on the center. I mounted that all onto a piece of dp. Used some brown and yellow to age the edges of the white base card and then attached all onto it. For the inside I used the MS ziz zag punch on the dp then added a piece of the dark paper to the edge. I used stickles to dot across top and bottom. On the opposite side I mounted the rest of the sentiment and added the piece of ribbon and then added a few dots of the stickle to that also.

Crazy 4 Challenges #15

I forgot the sentiment so had to repost the inside and I do not know how to put it at the bottom where it originally was.
Today the Crazy 4 Challenges was Snow...snowmen and or snow. I really ran with the snow. Started with a blue card and ran the white thru the snowfolder then punched the ends with the ms snow punch. I then punched large and small ms snowflakes in silver, blue and vellum. I glittered them up with silver and blue glitter. I cut the snow dp with the circle cutter. I colored this cute snowpeople watercolors and cut out with a reverse circle nestie. I added the tiny blue snowflake cutouts to every other tip.I added a ribbon and was going to do a bow but it was too much so nixed it. The trees I tore out and then added some dimensional paint to them. Mounted the white then the trees. Raised the round dp and then also raised the image. I added the snowflakes at different levels.

You can see the little blue snowflakes on the tips in this pic
On the inside I ran another paper thru the snowflake embossing folder.Added the line from song as my sentiment. I add the white, a layer of blue punched with ms punch another layer of white and of the dp. Added a white rectangle and finished both sides with some more of the fun snowflakes!

The Pink Elephant Challenge

The Pink Elephant Challenge today is to make something in your favorite Christmas colors. Mine is burgandy and creme. I made one of my favorite things a paperbag album that I will be giving to a friend. I took pics of several of the pages. This is a waterfall album. I tea dyed all my papers before starting. They look pretty white in the pics but they are definately a warm creamy color. I used burgandy paper from colorbox for much of it. I made pockets on many of the pages and there are lots of tags for journaling on or putting pics on. I used lots of gold and diamond dust glitter and sewed the pockets on with gold thread, I punched some snowflakes and the star for some added embelishments on the front. I punched out the little circles and then stamped the letters on with burgandy ink.

On this page I added a insert that can be written on inside of both pages and on the opposite page I used the glitter, stamped the sentiment, ran a little banner that repeats let it snow and left the top of the oval open to put a pic in.

This page has a pocket for the tags but also when you untie the little ribbon from the button the page drops down with room for a pic and to write and its also decorated inside

Another page with tags to use.

Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge

Today is Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge. Ceal chose II Chronicles 7:14. An awesome Scripture to remind us of how powerful prayer is and how the Lord desires for us to come to him. Isn't it amazing that the Creator of the universe wants to have fellowship with us and wants to help us in every area of our lives. The wonderful thing is that Hebrews 4: 15-16 tells us we can come with confidence and find the mercy and grace we need from our Savior who understands. Isnt that just awesome!! I have very few people stamps and this was about the only appropriate one. I had this card done so I reworked it to meet the challenge. It is acutally the most appropriate of timing ( isn't that just the way God is??) because a lady in our church has been struggling with prescription drug addiction. She has gone to a rehab and so this card will go to her. I promised her that I would be praying for her and like Ceal I want her to be assured that I am doing that. I think that it is such a wonderful priviledge to pray for others. It draws us closer to the Lord , it is an encouragement to others AND it builds faith in all of us as we see the hand of the Lord working. I started with a white base and added a layer of light blue dotted swiss, then a brown layer and then stitched on the scrap of dp that I had. The image was a very old stamp that had no name on it. I water colored it and then matted it on the brown and attached it. Then matted the sentiment on the brown and blue. I had this beautiful blue silky ribbon in blue for the bow. I had this very cool button in blue& brown so I tied it on with some sheer brown ribbon. On the inside I used the MS daisy punch on the brown and then added the blue stitched and then added the sentiment which I matted on the brown and popdotted up. On the opposite page I made a little pocket out of the brown and the last little piece of the dp. The pocket is for a pair of earings. The reason for that is because a couple years ago when we went to womens retreat she bought me a pretty pair of red jeweled earrings. It was the start of a friendship.

Crazy 4 Challenges #14

This is for the Crazy 4 Challenges. The challenge was to create a gift card holder. I love makeing paper flowers and these little purse cards are always fun to make so here it is. I started with a heavy cream card(looks white in pic but its not) stock cutting out the shape. Used SU punches to punch the oval for the handle and the scalloped one for the little surround. I used the fiskars punch for the lacy looking strip our of the graphic 45 dp and finished it off with a matching solid blue. I used the red blue and gold colors in the dp to make the flowers. I made some red trumpets, little gold posies and some blue curly flowers. I matted the sentiment in blue and used some of my crochet ribbon that had the same colors to tie it shut with. On the inside I did one side in blue and one side in the dp. I used the cream card stock to make the card pocket and punched it with the ms doily punch the added a row of blue and a row of dp. I then tied some of the crochet ribbon around it. I mounted the rest of the sentiment on a blue scalloped circle. I added another pocket on the otherside out of the dp so I can stick a pair of earings in it along with her gift card.

Just Us Girls Challenge

My card is for Just Us Girls Challenge. We had a layout to follow. I started with a white base card and added a black that I punched with the fiskers punch on top and bottom. Ran the white thru the dotted swiss folder. I stamped the psx holiday birds with black momento and matted on the black. I then punched out two sizes of scalloped circles. Next I punched a circle out of a black&white dp that had holly on it then punched a fleur de lis which I pop dotte on. Next I punched another white scallop piece and stamped with a SU joy then used black stickles to make the dots around it. Next I attached the black and white dotted ribbon. I put the large circle on and the pop dotted the smaller circle overlapping the big one. Last I used stickles to make the three dots top and bottom.

Color Throwdown #71

This is for the Color Throwdown Challenge. Love the colors they chose. Red, Pink,Brown,Olive. I had the perfect paper Iv'e been saving for a long time....well almost, no red. Its a basic grey which I combined with some scraps I had. I made a shadowbox card. Punched the edges with the daisy punch and it doesn't show but I put a pink center in each daisy. I framed the opening with a striped paper and also edged the additional top with it also. My camera doesnt capture the richness of color but this paper is just beautiful. The paper inside the shadowbox is a green with tiny pink roses on it. I lalso notice tha it looks like the oval is cut off on the right bottm side. It is the way the stripe is blending into the print. I colored the tilda with watercolors and then mounted it on a piece of brown that I ran thru the dotted swiss folder. I then punched out several layers of a little pink check and solid pink and layered them. to form the flower. For my red I added a red center to the flower with a pearl and the stripes on tildas apron. :)

Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge # 15

This card is for Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge. The challenge was to make a card with a gift on it. I started with a lt green and added a print from adventures. I attached it and "stitched" it. I then used some black stickles to darken the sentiments. and then matted them on the dk green. I punched the dark green with a square marvy punch and then ran thru the cuttlebug dotted swiss. I then punched the dk green border with a fiskers punch. The card opens off set. Made a gift and put in center or the green square then used stickles for the flourishes. On the inside of the card I finished the sentiment on a banner that I dotted with stickles and made lots of pretty gifts. On the left I also added another piece of the dp that I punched again with the fiskers punch. I added another strip of the dp on the right side also. See the inside below.

Just Us Girls Challenge # 9

My project is for Just Us Girls Challenge. Our challenge was to make a gift container. I tweaked the bag one just a bit. I had this gorgeous bobunny paper. It has these beautiful snowflakes around the border and music in the center. I first painted the inside to match the purple color because they were white on the backside. I sewed my two pieces of paper together with silver thread. I punched the 4 holes and reinforced them with two extra pieces of paperfor each hole so they would be strong enough for the handles. My ribbon was white and to stark for the paper so I dyed it purple to match. It has silver glittered swirly design on it and is very pretty . I then put them thru the holes and made knots to hold them. Next fastened the box inside for the bottom. Next I used nestiblities oval to cut the purple and cream pieces to make a tag. I then used a MS snowflake punch and glittered them. I glued one behind and then used foam dots to make the other two at different layers and attached to the oval. I then punched small and large snowflakes in purple and vellum and glittered them. I then punched several circles colored edges and glittered them and added the snowflake to them and attached with foam dots. I took several pics so you can see up close what they look like. The camera doesnt have enough zoom to take a close up so you can see how pretty it really is.

Crazy 4 Challenges #13

This card is for the Crazy 4 Challenges. We were to use punches. I used SU punch for the oval handle and also the SU scalloped punch for the pink to surround the handle. I used a MS doily border punch for the pink border. I cut the leaves out and the stems for the flowers. I used two sizes of marvy scalloped circles punches to make the pink flowers. I added a black and white dotted ribbon, sentiment and of course a few jewels. See inside below... On the side I used the SU punches for handles again. Cut out a pink base and used the MS doily punch again for the grey border and added a black strip on both sides. I used a marvy daisy punch on two colors of pink for the little flower and then cut out two green leaves. Finished of by shading the white and added the sentiment. This was a fun challenge!

The Pink Elephant Challenge # 42 & 43

Wow finally able to post...Mr linky MIA for quite a while

This card is for the Pink Elephant Challenge. The challenge was plaids and brads and favorite coloring medium. I only have watercolor pencils so that would be my favorite medium. :)
I used red for my card base and used a piece of plaid from colorbox. I colored the SU image with watercolors and cut it out and mounted it on the gold. I then ran the green thru the cuttlebug and rounded the corners. I mounted the image on to the green and attached to the plaid. I "stitched" around the plaid and I then generated the sentiment on the computer and mounted it on the gold and green then attached to the plaid. I had these fun green zebra striped brads that I attached to the red buttons and then punched a green circle to mount them onto the plaid. I attached the whole thing to the red and finished with the red brads in the corners. Inside the card I punched white, plaid and red circles to hide the brads. I then stamped the SU image and watercolored. I punched the plaid with MS circles border punch and attached to the white and then mounted the image. It doesnt show very well but the onside image says "A kind word a day keeps the blues away".

Color Throwdown Challenge # 70

This card is for the Color Throwdown Challenge. The challenge colors were dusty durango, old olive and elegant eggplant. I started with old olive for my card base. I used the MS butterfly border punch on the eggplant and then attached a thin strip of durango to put across the top of the card. I used some glitter on the butterflies. I watercolored the PB image and then matted it on the eggplant that has corners punched with a fisker corner punch then matted on the durango. I used a piece of eggplant to make a strip under the matting. I used the SU oval punches to attach my sentiment to. I used durango for the inside and added another strip of the butterflies in eggplant to finish it.

Stampin'Sisters in Christ Challenge #14

This card is for Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge. Helen chose Galations 6:9 as the scripture. It is a great scripture to certainly challenge us to keep on keepin on for the prize that lays befores us! Most appropriate reminder especially for me as it has been a trying week. Her challenge was to make a Thanksgiving card to celebrate the spirit of Thanksgiving. Have any of you read the proclamation that Abraham Lincoln wrote to begin Thanksgiving? Wow, the president proclaiming that we are straying from God and need to remember where all we have comes from. It's quite moving. Anyone interested I would email you a copy. I do not have any actual thanksgiving stamps so I chose to use leaves that I embossed with black embossing powder and then colored with alcohol inks. I matted the orange on a grey that I punched corners with a marvy punch. I sewed it on with black and then stamped flourishes and went over them with black stickles for some sparkle. I put the sentiment on the purple and embossed it with the dotted swiss folder. Pop dotted it up for dimensionand added the little flower. I am so thankful First for a Savior and then for my family, friends & brothers and sisters in Christ. HAPPY THANKSGIVING

The Crazy 4 Challenges #12

This card is for The Crazy 4 Challenges . It has been one of those weeks. When I looked at this image it made me laugh. Sorta how I felt this week "overloaded" so I had to use it. hehe I didnt have any dp with strawberries on it but had this scrap with a red berries on it so it worked. Matted my little watercolored image on the red and black mats that I punched with a fisker corner punch. I had to make 3 little strawberries to put up in the corner since of course I couldn't find any kind of strawberry buttons or something. I lifted them three different heighths to give some dimension to them. I matted the sentiment and tied it with a little dotted ribbon and popped it up also My camera doesn't capture the colors accurately. The red is actually very deep and it looks sorta orangey here.

The Pink Elephant Challenge

This is for The Pink Elephant Challenge. I found their fun challenge and it was for a round layout which I love to make. I used a ekmorrocan punch around the edge of the circle since I didnt have the scallop the layout called for. Started with a light pink and added a scrap of dp I had, a paisley print. The angel stamp is unnamed. I colored it with watercolor to coordinate with the dp and matted it on a blue. Added the lace and bow. There is also some gold glitter embellishment and embellishments on the paisleys although doesnt really show. :) If you enlarge it will show better.
